MEET THE TEAM
Emily Malchow is a Senior at Saint Xavier University
majoring in English Writing and Rhetoric, with a dual minor
in Environmental Sustainability Studies and International
Studies. Her analysis on oil extraction and geopolitics is published in ESSAI, the College of DuPage academic journal. She is a Saint Xavier Honors scholar, two-time international delegate in South Africa and Ireland, 2020 Thomas Deegan Award winner, Dean’s List recipient, and a Writing Consultant for the Saint Xavier Learning Center.

Tess Bowens is a Junior at Saint Xavier University
majoring in Graphic Design. She is a Roy W. Clough
Scholar, Dean’s List recipient, and previously worked as an intern with Hope For The Day. Upon graduation, Tess aspires to work as a graphic designer for a creative agency or startup, with an emphasis in sustainable design. Her 2D model of the Mercy Monarch Garden is featured on the "About the Project" page.

Rachel Garcia is a Senior at Saint Xavier University majoring in Music Education, and is working on her endorsement in Social Sciences to teach history. She is a Daniel Lawrence Scholarship recipient and two-time Music Talent awardee for Estrellas de SXU. Rachel has contributed to the start of the NAfME chapter and club, and serves as a Social Media Coordinator for Saint Xavier University.

Xanthia Gaines is a Senior at Saint Xavier University majoring in Biology and Secondary Education, with a minor in Psychology. She is a member of the Tau Sigma and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies. Upon graduation, Xanthia intends to work as a high school Biology teacher, where she can use a socio-emotional model approach in her classroom with the intention of reducing violence.

Corina Salas is a Junior at Saint Xavier University majoring in Computer Science, with a minor in Communication. She is a 2020 Registered Student Organization Officer of the Year recipient, and holds leadership positions in Campus Ministry and Saint Xavier Government. Corina will be a Summer 2020 Software Engineer intern for Target Headquarters, where she hopes to return after
completing her degree. Upon graduation, she hopes to contribute her skills to give back to the LatinX community.
